McIntosh Scholarship- awarded to a male student with high academic achievement and strong leadership skills Atkins Scholarship- awarded to a student with high academic achievement and a strong community service background Cornerstone Scholarships- awarded to students who have high academic achievement and represent the values and commitment of the NEFMSF. Purpose This scholarship fund was established in 2013 by the Northeast Florida Medical Society Foundation. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to African-American high school seniors in Jacksonville, Florida (Duval County) who have been accepted into an accredited college or university with the intention of majoring in an area of science or math. The student’s ultimate goal should be to pursue a graduate degree that leads to a career in healthcare (physician, physician assistant, advanced registered nurse practitioner). Eligibility The NEFMSF scholarship will be awarded to an African-American student pursuing a degree in science or math with the goal of becoming a physician, physician assistant, or advanced registered nurse practitioner. Children/ dependents of members of the Northeast Florida Medical Society are not eligible. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements. 1. Applicant must be a high school senior in Jacksonville, Florida (Duval County). 2. Applicant must have a cumulative minimum grade point average of 3.5. 3. Applicant must submit all required application information. 4. Applicant must have two (2) recommendation letters. Four scholarships for two males and two females --- $5,000 each --- will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students on behalf of the former NASA astronaut, physician and businessman, Dr. Bernard Harris. Click here for more information. The Rico Mack Scholarship was established by local engineers to honor the memory of our co-worker who transitioned in 1989. Each year, the members of the Rico Mack Scholarship hosts an annual golf tournament to provide funds which can be used to defray college expenses. Two scholarships of $750 each will be awarded to high school graduates planning to major in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Scholarship Criteria:

Florida State University's Young Scholars Program is a six-week residential summer science and mathematics experience for outstanding students from Florida's public and private high schools.
