This scholarship is to attract well qualified minority high school and transfer students to a Biological and Agricultural Systems Engineering (BASE) course of study at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU).
Number of Scholarships:
At least ten (10) annually
Value:
Eight thousand ($8,000) for in state students and a maximum of $16,000 for out of state students. The Scholarship can be used to help defray the cost of tuition, fees, and room and board.
Criteria:
High school recipients must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.
A SAT score of at least 1560 or an ACT score of 24 (verbal and math).
For the $16,000 scholarship, the recipient must have a 3.5 GPA and a SAT score of at least 1680 or an ACT score of at least 27(verbal and math).
Transfer students must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average.
All recipients must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, be enrolled in fifteen (15) hours of undergraduate courses per semester, and pass all courses attempted.
Must be a US citizen.
The applicant is required to apply for financial aid (contact the Office of Student Financial Aid, Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL 32307-3200).
